FIJI came from behind in nail-bitter to beat Sigma Nu 2-1 in the Inter-Fraternity soccer tournament championship. Throughout the match, FIJI had numerous opportunities that they could not convert on. After a failed clearance attempt in the second half by FIJI, Sigma Nu capitalized by scoring to take a 1-0 lead. With 10 minutes left, FIJI regrouped and continued to play hard creating chance after chance. Finally, senior midfielder Nick Hyun broke through the left side and sent a beautiful cross that was headed into the goal by junior midfielder Kurtis Selander. With just about 2 minutes left, freshman forward Adam Schaar received a cross on the ground and nailed it into the back of the net with precision to give FIJI winning goal!
On a side note, junior forward Bryan Hudson led the tournament with 6 goals scored.
