Letter to the Brothers

Dear brothers and the members of the Archonate of the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta,

On behalf of the Chi Lambda Colony at the University of California at San Diego, we sincerely thank you for giving all of us the opportunity to embody the values of Phi Gamma Delta as a Delta Colony of this wonderful Fraternity. Over the past 18 months, we have made great strides, most notably in membership, growing to a mighty 67 brothers. After reviewing our petition, we hope that our accomplishments have met the expectations of Phi Gamma Delta and are, in turn, suitable to join your ranks as fully initiated brothers.

The Chi Lambda Colony was established by an interest group that desired to be a part of the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta. With each brother who has joined our colony, our determination to receive our charter has grown exponentially. United by a common desire to become a full-fledged chapter, our brotherhood has continued to strengthen; through our experiences as a colony of Phi Gamma Delta, we have never stopped and will continue to grasp each brother close to our hearts with hooks of steel.

Our brothers are involved in a variety of student organizations and leadership positions, demonstrating our dedication, not only to our personal ambitions, but also to the overall progression of campus life. The Chi Lambda Colony is in good standing as an organization and as a member of the InterFraternity Council and received third place for Chapter Achievement at our first Greek Awards this winter. Our colony has partaken in numerous campus-wide philanthropies along with competing in IFC intramural sports.

Upon reviewing our petition, we hope that you will be able to see the love and appreciation that the Chi Lambda Colony has for Phi Gamma Delta.
